My Best Follow-up

Anyone participated in " "good self-care" this week? As noted by author Priscilla Shirer, " you will never be able to give the best of yourself if you're not taking care of yourself..."(p 106). Interesting thought.

I made an intentional effort after the busy weekend, to be still before the Lord. It was wonderful. I wasn't planning for Sunday School or Women's Ministry. It was just me and the Lord. I was still. I heard from Him. I received rest. God is good. I had my Sabbath Monday... ( that's another blog.. about the Sabbath) I am working on it.

In His Service, I am giving Him my best!

My Best

As we prepare for our next session of Resolution for Women, Sunday March 4th, think about giving your best. Ask a honest friend who knows you very well how he/she thinks you are managing your current priorities.

Focus and pray on the feedback given. Ask God for direction.

The Resolution for Women follow-up

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
The first session of the TWM book study, The Resolution for Women, was Sunday, February 19th. The session was more that a review of book. It was a time to review God’s Word and His design for women. It was also a time of sharing, bonding, praising, and prayer.

If you were unable to attend, please continue your reading. Although it is an easy ready, it is important to reflect on the points introduced.  I echo Priscilla’s words:

“My hope is that you’ll read this book slowly and purposefully~not with the intention of finishing but of engaging with each segment.”

We will encounter 13 challenges to focus and pray to God for his help, guidance and wisdom to resolve.
Our next session is March 4th. In the mean time we will continue to engage you with postings on our blog, as well as, FaceBook.
Blessings,

Sandy Hunt
13 Resolutions for Women

1. A Resolution To Be Content

I do solemnly resolve to embrace my current season of life, and will maximize my time in it. I will resist the urge to hurry through or circumvent any portion of my journey but will live with a spirit of contentment.

2. A Resolution To Champion Biblical Femininity

I will champion God’s model for womanhood in the face of a post-feminist culture. I will teach it to my daughters and encourage its support by my sons.

I will accept and celebrate my uniqueness, and to esteem and encourage the distinctions I admire in others.

4. A Resolution To Be Devoted To Christ and Defined By His Word

I will live as a woman answerable to God and faithfully committed to His Word.

5. A Resolution To Devote My Best to God’s Priorities For Me

I will seek to devote the best of myself, my time, and my talents to the primary roles the Lord has entrusted to me in this phase of my life.

6. A Resolution To Esteem Others

I will be a woman who is quick to listen and slow to speak. I will care about the concerns of others and esteem them more highly than myself.

7. A Resolution To Release Others From The Prison of My Hurt

I will forgive those who have wronged me and reconcile with those I have wronged.

8. A Resolution To Live with the Highest Standard of Virtue and Purity

I will not tolerate evil influences even in the most justifiable form in myself or my home, but will embrace and encourage a life of purity.

9. A Resolution To Care

I will pursue justice, love mercy, and extend compassion toward others.

10. A Resolution To Be the Kind Of Woman Who Truly Blesses Her Man

I will be faithful to my husband and honor him in my conduct and conversation in order to bring glory to the name of the Lord. I will aspire to be a suitable partner for him to help him reach his God-given potential.

11. A Resolution To Train My Children in Righteousness

I will demonstrate and teach my children how to love God with all their hearts, minds, and strength, and will train them to respect authority and live responsibly.

12. A Resolution To Make My Home a Welcome Place To Be

I will cultivate a peaceful home where God’s presence is sensed not only through acts of love and service, but also through the pleasant and grateful attitude with which I perform them.

13. A resolution to live today with tomorrow in mind

I fully resolve to make today’s decisions with tomorrow’s impact in mind. I will consider my current choices in light of those who will come after me.

Resolution for Women Book Study ( February 2012)

The first session of the Resolution For Women book study was a blessing.

Here are  a few comments:

YES, Thank you sister Sandy... The letter you read was soooo very true. Praise God for friends who encourage! Thank you for sharing it. Your work is not in vain. Thank you also for sharing the song" Overwhelmed!"

Praise GOD HE is FAITHFUL!
It was a busy weekend for most of us we were able to participate in some thoroughly enjoyable life changing events and major milestones in the lives of some wonderful friends.

Now I am excited to get to know some NEW SISTERS in Christ. I see these lovely women on Sundays and just passing by I say hello....but now, because of this book study and the interaction we had yesterday we get to fellowship on a deeper level.  I was VERY encouraged!

I am also glad that Priscilla (the author) expressed her concern about how the New York Times article would be received by the public primarily because of her Christian viewpoints on our roles as women, wives, and yielded partners in this society.
I am looking forward to this study and the fellowship with my sisters in Christ..I really appreciate what one of them said yesterday!! She visited for a while before she decided to commit to membership. Now she wants to be involved. PRAISE GOD!!!
My prayer is that the HOLY SPIRIT will enable us to fully engage in HIM and with one another, that we will take the time to get alone with HIM read, study, and be prepared for our next meeting. Honestly the busyness of daily life tends to redirect my priorities and divert my focus.

So I pray for a steadfast, committed spirit to follow through as we study together and grow. "OVERWHELM US LORD" not as the world does, for YOU supply all of our need, Overwhelm us with PRAISE UNTO THEE!YES, !"
